ManuskiDr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (1891-1956) envisioned a society based on liberty, equality, fraternity and manuski (Manuski is a Marathi word used by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and it stands for humanity, humanness and respect for fellow human being). Manuski project is dedicated to realise the vision of a new society based on Manuski. Manuski is the name of interrelated projects dealing with leadership of the Dalits, transcending caste barriers, Dalit women issues, human rights advocacy and campaining and alliance building with like minded organisations. The main interventions of the Manuski project are in the following areas:

The law permitted access to this water tank, but peoples religious belief prevented access to drinking water for untouchables.The mass movement for civil rights was inaugurated with this act of taking water from the public water tank. |
